it's easy to be a "manager", but not easy to be a Leader. a leader leads by example. they present how to get the work done, and why certain things are better to be done a certain way! respecting and acknowledging each other's POV is a major key factor between employees and their "superiors". a career superior must understand and acknowledge the box and barriers for that position! work/life balance shall also mean minimize work communication after-hours as much as possible - sending midnight emails does NOT mean you're a "good" manager, it means you're not respecting other people's choice for keeping their notifications on, and you're just interrupting their LIFE!

How is the #teambuilding working for you?We all know that when people feel motivated,#inspired, andconnected, the possibilities are endless. As a manager I always considered that it is my responsibility to create a work environment that brings joy. Of course it is not something that only one person can do... it also requires the team's engagement. Here are three action points I have found effective inpromoting a#positiveenergy:1️⃣ Lead by example: As a CEO, it's essential to embody the#valuesandenergy you want to see in your organization: a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic. By setting the tone, you inspire your#teamto followsuit.2️⃣#Encouragecollaboration and recognition: Encourage opencommunication, idea sharing, and teamwork. Recognize and#celebrateachievements, both big and small, to reinforce a positive and #supportiveculture.3️⃣ Understand the importance of#worklifebalance: Recognize that a healthy work-lifebalance is crucial for maintaining positive energy. True or False: Setting boundaries in the workplace is crucial for our well-being and professional success. I’m in a new role, and as the to-do’s pile up, I’ve been thinking a lot about boundaries. Where are mine? Am I willing to enforce them? Boundaries help us maintain a healthy work-life balance and protect our time, energy, and resources. They also communicate our values and expectations to others, making it easier to collaborate and achieve our goals.Having clear boundaries allows us to:🗝️ Prioritize our time and focus on what's most important. 🗝️ Avoid burnout. 🗝️ Be able to recharge and be our best selves both in and out of the office.Whether it's setting limits on after-hours work or establishing a clear division between personal and professional time, setting boundaries is essential for our personal and professional success. As leaders, own responsibility is to role model what it looks like, and also to respect other’s boundaries. I challenge you to reflect on your own boundaries and make any necessary changes to ensure that you're setting yourself up for success. #Boundaries #WorkLifeBalance #ProfessionalSuccess #responsibleleadership

"When do you sleep?" - Probably the number 1 question I get asked. One of the skills I've developed (not perfected) is the ability to delegate. Interestingly enough, it started at home. When people say it takes a village, they aren't kidding. I spend a majority of my free time working on passion projects that bring me joy and fulfillment, but obviously if I am choosing to do something, I am also choosing NOT to do something else; that's how it works. My husband and I split all household responsibilities - chores, bills, etc. We've committed to always having 1 parents at all school or sport related events for our daughter. We make sure BOTH of us have time to exercise daily, no matter what. My parents are on school drop off and pick up - they are effectively my daughter's (and her friends) Uber. They live less than a mile away and are happy to have as much time with Adriana as possible. They also watch my dog when I travel or I need to head to the city for work events. My daughter and I have created systems that work for us to build in personal time but she also understands and respects that when I am working, I need to focus. So it started there. Then I'd do my best to translate this at work. Letting go was HARD. I love being in control so delegating, enabling and empowering were skills I needed to work on but when I did/do - MAGIC HAPPENS!Delegation changes lives:📈 Increased Productivity🔬 Focus on Strategic Initiatives👩💻 Employee Development😁 Boosted Morale and Motivation⌚ Effective Time Management😵 Prevention of Burnout🔍 Improved Problem-Solving⚖ Better Work-Life BalanceLearning how to delegate enables me to do all the things I want to do. It allows me to prioritize what's important (at work and home). If you are a leader, what things do you delegate? If you are an IC, how do you embrace things being delegated? #leadership #delegation #balance #priorities #customersuccess

My manager doesn’t smile and makes me dread Mondays! Managers bear the responsibility of fostering a positive work environment. Their demeanour sets the tone.A smile cost nothing!A morning ritual of smiling as you enter the office, especially on a Mondays sets up the week.Even better – saying “good morning how are you” but not whilst you are still walking to your desk, but stopping and listening to the answer!Exceptional managers grasp the ripple effect of their emotions - a phenomenon known as emotional contagion. Even on rough days, they recognise the impact of a negative demeanour! The power of a smile should not be underestimated. Let it radiate from you the manager and watch how the rest of the team will now be more willing to smile more. These outward displays of happiness and optimism foster a sense of camaraderie, an 'Esprit de Corps'.In such an environment, team members feel a bond of trust and willingly strive for excellence. Before you swipe your access card, check in with yourself to ensure you are smiling! It comes at no expense, yet its value is immeasurable!#management #leadership #leadershipeffectiveness #stepuptomanagement

Opioids, drugs, and mental illness are a mask for the industry’s problems.Inefficiency and ineffectiveness of planning and production leads to:1. Long working hours2. Working on the weekends3. Over time to catch up4. Deterioration of personal relationships. And then as a result we have mental health, failed marriages, and a drug problem. The downstream negatives effects on the human condition is so great that the main benefits of lean construction is NOT just a project on time, on budget, and within scope. The main benefits are people’s actual well being.

👍There is a manager who finds you having breakfast and thinks you're wasting work time, while another manager gathers the team at the beginning of the day for a communal breakfast, fostering team spirit before starting work energetically.👍Some managers, if they see you're skilled, might feel threatened and try to constrain you, while others prefer to mentor and help you learn more, aiding in your growth.👍There's a manager lacking empathy; if you face a crisis, they don't care. On the other hand, there's a different manager who calls to check on you if you're tired or facing difficulties.👍One manager may come at the end of the day and ask for a lot of work, making you stay extra hours. Another manager respects work-life balance, helping you finish your tasks within the scheduled time.🤍There's a significant difference between them, shaping whether the employee loves or hates their job, influencing their commitment or decision to move on. Managers are the main factor determining whether employees stay or leave, even more than salary and other factors. May you be blessed with wise managers.
